User Feedback & How It Works

Adding User Feedback to Roadmap

Centralize product feedback from different teams and external channels with Roadmap’s user feedback tools. Below are a few ways you can add and collect user feedback with Roadmap:

  • Add new user feedback directly to Roadmap
  • Use the feedback widget to collect feedback from your app, website, or public roadmap
  • Forward feedback via email
  • Submit feedback via Slack or Intercom
  • Use the API

User Feedback

Users can submit feedback directly from your website or app using the feedback widget. Whenever feedback is submitted directly the user is added as a subscriber and you can always see the original source and details of the feedback.

When a team member wants to add feedback on behalf of a user, they should add the user’s name and email so that it’s easy for the product team can engage that user or notify the original team member to reach back out when there is progress.

Team Feedback

If you’re like most product teams, that means in addition to user feedback you also have a steady flow of feedback and suggestions from internal stakeholders like sales, customer success, and marketing.

Roadmap helps you keep track of internal vs external stakeholders so that you can engage with them differently throughout the product pipeline.

The Feedback Workflow

By managing feedback with Roadmap, you can close the feedback loop, prioritize your backlog, increase user engagement, and gain valuable insights.

  • Is this something we’ve heard before? If so, merge that feedback to an existing idea.
  • Is this a good idea we haven’t heard before? If so, create a new idea.
  • Is this a bad idea? If so, you can archive or delete the feedback.

When you merge feedback, this helps your backlog stay prioritized and you understand aggregate data like the total monthly recurring revenue (MRR) of an idea or story.
